Sony Electronics Inc. has broadened its reach for its conferencing products with the selection of MCSi, Inc., with offices nationwide, to sell and support Sony’s audio- and videoconferencing solutions. Under the agreement, Sony has chosen MCSi as a preferred reseller for audio- and videoconferencing solutions.

“It was clear to us that Sony was best-of-class in audio- and videoconferencing products and offered a full range of conferencing solutions to fulfill the emerging demand for meeting and collaboration solutions,” says Mike Peppel, chairman, president, and CEO of MCSi. “Our relationship with Sony spans their entire product line, from broadcast and production equipment to LCD and plasma displays. The addition of the videoconferencing products will allow us to offer our customers the very best video and audio quality with the local support from the only national provider in North America.”

In addition to offering system integration and service support, MCSi will offer Sony’s ISDN- and IP-capable solutions—the PCS-1600 set-top videoconference system and room-based PCS-6000IP videoconference system—along with Sony’s PCS-DS150 wireless document camera for document scanning and display.

MCSi will also supply Sony’s full line of audioconferencing products including the SX-M10 and the SX-700A simultaneous translation system, which are designed to integrate with the company’s videoconferencing products.
